Mary Audsley (1919-2008)

Studied at Westminster School of Art where her teachers included Mark Gertler and Bernard Meninsky. She was to have taught at the school but the onset of World War II meant that it was closed. Audsley served with the Women’s Royal Air Force. After the war she did return to teaching but ill health and family commitments temporarily hindered her career until she took up seriously again in the early 1970s.
