Margaret Pullee (1910-2003)

Margaret Pullée (née Fisher) was born in New York and was educated at Mayfield School in Putney before attending Chelsea School of Art and from 1928 to 1932 the Royal College of Art where she met her future husband Edward Pullée, a fellow artist who was to become one of the giants of British art education. Her early work included commissions for illustrations from the Radio Times and posters for LondonTransport. From 1958 she began exhibiting in the Royal Academy and was elected a member of the NEAC in 1964 where she was a regular exhibitor until her death.
