George Dannatt (1915-2009)

‘A prolific, pre-eminent English exponent of constructivist art’ (Michael McNay, The Guardian, Thursday 10th December 2009)

George Dannant was the epitome of a Renaissance man, a chartered surveyor, a freelance music critic and later on in life – an artist. He learnt initially from Adrian Heath, then through his friendship with Patrick Heron was drawn into the St.Ives group of painters. He worked closely with John Wells and experimented in a wide range of mediums.
